This is my facebook post for Thanksgiving.
In the past year and a half I have had many moments to contemplate gratefulness. Through-out this time I have gone though a divorce after 18 years of marriage, lost a very dear young friend to suicide, gone through being homeless and rebuilding a new life with little more than a few bags of clothes to now a home full of more than the simple comforts. I have to say..after so much loss, the one thing I am most thankful for is love. Love that I can give, and love that is given to me. Love that allows us to forgive one another, love nourishes our hope for life to get better, it convicts us to correct ourselves, it encourages us to find our strength, admit our weaknesses, and face our challenges. So, though it is not a material thing.. love encompasses all things that we cherish in our lives. Family, pets, homes, friends, jobs, faith/religion. it is through our ability to love and be loved that can make us feel stronger and braver .. or weaker and more vulnerable. All things you have bound in your life and your heart…were attained in one way or another through the association of love.

I am thankful for having my family. Through the times we struggle we were able to overcome the hardships we’ve been going through. Thankful my dad is alive from triple bypass heart surgery, thankful mom believes in us. Thanks thankful my sister didn’t end her life. Thankful my little brother able to be accepted into a university. Thankful I’m able to live each day to see everyone living with a purpose. I may have ended a 2 year relationship but I’m thankful that we had the best in the world and I’ve tried my best for it to happen. I wish and thank everyone this night a happy thanksgiving.

I play Derby Days and thank for the administration team hard work that I can enjoy the games every single moment.

I’m very thankful for all my friends and family because of them I could pass through bad and dificult times.

Happy Thanksgiving 2012, Today is a delightful day! I give thanks to my family, who help me through life and give me resources to get me done with challenging obstacles. I am thankful for army recruits/veterans for giving sacrifices for the USA, Without them, we would be down in ashes, Thanks! I am thankful for a peaceful world, without one, my life would be teared into pieces because I have nothing to do thats fun. I am thankful for food on my table, without money for food, I would living a bad life and I probably wouldn’t have met anyone I have met in my life. They give me fun thoughts and things to do in life. Thank everyone and everything that gives me help in anyway.

Oh there’s so many things to be thankful for, but here’s a short list

My husband: He’s my best friend and my #1 fan. From him I get unconditional love and acceptance, and he always makes me feel like I’m special and liked. I’m the luckiest girl in the world for having found my mustached man.

My parents: I’m thankful to be the daughter of two very loving, supportive people. My father is gone now but never forgotten and always loved. I know how much he adored me and how much my mom does, too. My parents enabled me to experience many things, regardless of how much they sometimes worried. They gave me everything they possibly could … and even some things they probably couldn’t.

My friends: If I named them all individually, from wonderful acquaintances to tried and true friends, I’d have the rest of my list of 100 things to be thankful for right there. I don’t have a large number of close friends, but I do know there are a lot of good people, near and far, who I can count on, who care about me, and who want only the best for me. I truly value my friends and will never have “enough” or too many.

My beloved dog, Miss Sassafrass Tea (Sassy, for short): Always there to greet me and even hug me when I come through the door, Sassy gives me so much love. I know she won’t be with us forever, but I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the time we still have. There’s nothing like the unconditional love of a dog.

And lastly, my favorite game, TWOM: I can’t even describe how much I love this game. (Would be great trying it out on the new iPod touch haha)

I guess I’m most thankful this year for the stray cats that wondered into our yard and seemed to bring happiness to the whole family, I’m thankful that even though Sandy took the life of one of the two little kittens we were able to save one and she now lives with us I’m thankful for those little animals reminding us about love and family and what’s really important

I have sooo many things to be thankful for. My health, my husband, my wonderful home, all my “children”…the list could go on and on. I love Thanksgiving, and I am very thankful that I am able to prepare a big dinner for the family. But most of all, I thank God for giving me the life I have. If I had it to do all over again I honestly wouldn’t change a thing.

I am thankful for life, health, strength, and a sound mind. I am thankful for the ability to use my God-given talent of writing to reach more people than I encounter everyday. I am thankful to live and fulfill my purpose as my steps are being ordered. I am thankful to be able to give back to my community and help those less fortunate. I am thankful for every experience in this life, good or bad, because they all have helped me to grow.

I am thankful because I look for reasons to be thankful. Too many people don’t appreciate what they have, especially when they have plenty. I’ve been through difficult times when my mom was sick, and our family struggled to survive. Still, I was grateful that we were able to get through those times together. What I learned is that we should always appreciate our blessings, especially when we have few of them.

I am thankful for God and all that He has given us. We are truly blessed to be alive and have these opportunities. Thank you.

Being thankful is a daily state of mind for me. You see, I work in a hospital. I see tragedy and drama every day. I drive past our local mission on my way to work. The homeless and jobless are sent out into the cold and rain exactly at the same time I drive past. I sit in my warm car waiting at the light as they struggle to wake up and lug themselves and all they own in the world across the street. I cannot help to count my blessings. Then I go to work and while I take care of the sick, some of who have no one to visit them, I thank God for my health and my family. I know I am truly blessed. I am so very thankful.

I am thanking to each of every one who had sacrificed them to give us a beautiful life.

I’m very thankful for my family and a boyfriend who loves and respectsme and my boundaries. We may all argue from time to time, but we learn and still stay together and love one another, a privilege many would consider to be the most important and precious. I’m also very thankful for my cousin who came from Brazil to spend a couple of years with my family and experienced his first Thanksgiving with us!

Most of all, I’m oh-so-thankful to God-He gave me all those gifts and cared for me when I walked through the darkest valleys of my life.I’ve been through so much and used to let it get me down, but I can now see that these scars can been shown as trophies because, well, I’m alive…Isurvived. It’s crazy how much more enjoyable life can be when we can allow something sad to work for our good! It’s like I’ve only now learned how to enjoy life…it’s not easy, but I’m loving it!

I give thanks for my good health. A lot of people cannot say they have the things I do.

I’m thankful for having such a caring family and a wonderful friends. This past year has been one of the hardest for me, losing loved ones and even losing our very home but thanks to my relatives we have a home again and I can’t be thankful enough. This thanksgiving was also a more special one because it marked my 3 year anniversary with my girlfriend and I am very thankful for her, for being patient with me these past 3 years together because I know it wasn’t easy and for that I thank her.

I found out this year I was pregnant, then I was in a horrible car accident a week later. My car was totaled, but I only had minor injuries. I give thanks for that, and a thousand more for the healthy baby girl that was born 6 months later.
