Chaos Item??

Im wondering what the chaos recipe does.. Becuz to me all it did to my great sword and elven plate was make it a higher level to wear and make the writing orange.. So i now have no armor or sword an have to buy it again and spend a bunch of money.. Which pissed me off.. So does anyone no what the recipe even does??

The chaos recipe has a 50% chance to raise or lower the attack or defense of an item. It switches the item to orange and raises the lvl requirement. I would never use this combination on an item that you can only get once in the game. I have failed many times and have succeeded also. It's a risk, in the meantime buy some more weapons or armor :)
