Leveled up whole deck, but in game, players still level one

I leveled up all my Current Deck of players to level three or four, spending about 30,000 points.

But when I went to play a game with my new leveled up team, they were all still on their old level 1 status.

What have I done wrong? What must I do to level up my actual team?

just started a new game and now the leveled up values appear to be there.
so i guess I did it right!
