This is something that got big through XBOX Live and Playstation Network, and then migrated their way into Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and then eventually World of Warcraft as well.
This type of thing has become widely popular and I think any MMORPG could benefit from having these added into their game. Simple things can be added as the starting implementation. For now, reward players with EXP or even Titles.
Some ideas could be:
Achievement
Kill 50 of InsertMOBNameHere
Reward: Title
Title Name: MOBName Killer
Achievement
Reach 50 hours of game time played
Reward: Experience
Experience Total: 525 Experience
The list goes on and on and you can get really creative with these, and I think it would only help the enhance the immersion factor of playing an MMORPG.
If you do decide to add titles, maybe you could add one for for the people who have purchased the Starter Pack to unlock the Premium stuff, to give a little more incentive to purchase such a package, while in return, they get an extra thanks from Com2Us for showing their support.
