What is Fire, Ice,Poison, & Magic stat for in the status menu?

Inside the charater status menu I see Fire, Ice,Poison & Magic. What are those for. Are we able to add point for those stat too. I know you can’t add point for strength intelligence, Dexterity, constitution and Wisdom after started the game.

I think there will be some armor which will boost this. And perhaps a mage will attack you with flare (normal 40dmg), you have a fire ressistance of 50%, you will just get 20dmg :)

I have seen some shields with it also maybe a pair of rare gloves.
