hello, i LOVE this game and play it daily! the issue i have is cycling is easy! and alot of players are winning just from doing that, what about the other balls? the ones that disappear, skull ones, rainbow colored ones, ect? why dont they have more gained points, or bar movement? they are harder to hit than cycling! all you have to do is get good at cycling then your a top notch player? game needs to be harder than that, i jumped over 5000 spots when i got the cycling down, but get beat the crap out of by others who thats all they do! i will get tons of the other balls, hit them in signs, over 500 feet, but the guy that cycles wins everytime? Game should be harder, and more points awarded for the other balls, or what would be the point of the other balls?? also im tierd of loosing just because the network gets busy, i could be crushing someone and then that darn hour glass comes up, then when it finally comes back on i lost! over 70 of my loses came from this! Please do another update with what im talking about in this thread im writing!! i bet the leader boards change a lot!!

^ :eek:Cycling... easy  ???... you should go to the Star Channel just once , let's see if you say that doing called shots is easy.

I would not say cycling is easy at all.Sure it is easy when they trow you strait balls but what about when you get balls thrown at you in different angles?
I went to the star channel once and all I can say is that I'm not ready to be there yet.
But I do Agree with you on the item balls. They should give you more points then normal once when hit.
I think they are there just to mess up your streak so the other player can catch up to you I think.
What I really want is that stupid Iron Ball to be gone for ever. And I would like the network disconnect thing to be fixed but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

I don't think I've ever heard any player, even the top players, say that cycling and called shots are "easy". Even in the free room and the major room, I am always trying to improve my cycling and called shots, and as MOnterrey wrote, cycling in the star room is extremely difficult.
So, Clrunyo, if cycling and called shots come easy to you, then you have a very rare talent and I'm sure you'll climb the charts very quickly, as unless your opponent gets lucky and gets a couple of x2 balls, he's not going to beat you if you cycle and hit called shots 2 or 3 times in a game. And if you can make the deadliest shot in the game, a called shot with a crash, no one will be able to touch you!
As far as iron balls, they have cost me games and they have also saved my butt, so I just try to deal with them whether they benefit me or my opponent.

The iron balls I don't mind but I think they should do away with the 2x balls. Lastnite I swear every guy I played got those 2x balls which cost me 3 games in a row cuz the guy never missed a homerun. I probably got a couple of 2x balls which makes me wonder how random those balls really are....

Called shots are easy in the free room!! Go to star channel n let's see how easy they are! I bet u will b singing a whole different song about called shots...there is only 2 people I think called shots r easy for and that's Artee and Dannyshan!!! I just can't stop laughing over here... That dude should b a comedian!! Lmao

Cycling might be 'easy' in the Free Channel depending on who the pitcher is. The green pitcher throws screws, splitter, knuckles, forks which might be difficult for the perfect timing necessary for you to achieve cycling and called shots. Just imagine if you encounter this green pitcher in the Star Channel I'm sure you'll be very surprised.

Yes it is very easy to get the cycling down on the free channel. Like most of the other kat's said let's see you do that on the other channel's.

I played a player in the star channel and he/she smoked me with a cycle and hit all the called shots, now that was impressive.

Actually, quite some time ago, Dannyshan and I developed a formula to help us determine how good we were at making our called shots. Perhaps some of those reading this will find it helpful.
Under the "record" tab of your player profile, take the total number of called HRs that you've hit, and divide that number by the total number of cycling opportunities that you've had. For example, if you have hit 3 called HRs and you have had 10 cycling opportunities, then you have converted on 30% of your called shot opportunities. There are two factors which cause this formula not to be exact. First, it is possible to hit more than one called HR on one cycle, and also, often times your last homer of a game will be for a cycle, in which case you won't have an opportunity to convert on a called shot HR. But we figured that the two opposites would pretty much even things out.
We also determined that a ratio of around 50% would be considered good, and we would go back and check every month or two to see if our percentage had improved. Of course if you play a lot of games in the star room, where it is more difficult to hit a called shot HR, your percentage may not be as high. But still, we found it to be a pretty good measure of our called shot accuracy.

I think guys on here are not understanding what I'm saying? So here let me sum it up for you. I get on every channel I'm not saying I'm the best cycle guy out there, but I'm tired of playing guys that that's all they do! If I'm playing someone and all I'm being thrown is the special crazy balls, and they are getting regular balls to cycle, it's not fair that when I hit these special balls out that they give you almost no bar movement at the top, as it does the cycling! If you going to have iron balls, invisible balls, etc. They should be worth more points then they are. The top 12 to 20 players are cyclers I have been really close to beating them but they are cycling while I get crazy balls to hit! So I think cycling is given to much point value. So to even it up the special balls should be worth a little more bar movement.
That's all I'm saying

Your opponent gets the same pitch type as you do. For example, you get a slider as the first pitch, he gets a slider too. But the angle and the speed may vary. Even you get an iron ball, if it is a fast, then your opponent gets a fast too no matter what kind of ball it is (iron, invisible or gold ball). Once you start to cycle to get called shot, you won't get any crazy balls or *2 ball or gold ball, even if your opponent send crazy balls to you. But still, the pitch types are the same for both players. Cycling is a very good way to attack and defend, in my opinion, as long as you can do that. The risk is that you lose the chance to get *2 balls and spend a little bit more time on watching the animation. Whether it is fair or not, it's totally up to you. But since it's one of the rules, you'd better get used to it if you want to win more.

I think the 300 points awarded for cycling, and the 500 points given for called shots is fair, simply because it is the most difficult skill in the game to master.
Crashes and monster shots require more luck than skill, and not only does the called shot require a lot of skill (and sometimes a little luck), but it is also a very risky shot, whereas the crashes and monster shots aren't risky.
When going for a called shot, if your timing is just a little off, you can easily foul the ball off or just hit it for a "hit", or miss the ball completely. I think the game rewards you properly for this risk.
If I get beaten by a player who cycles and hits called shots better than me, I just tip my cap to him and move on to the next game.
And I would certainly rather lose to a player who cycles his a$$ off than lose because of a blackout, or a disconnect, or a server delay!

Hello all,
I have read all the posts in this thread and you guys sound like a bunch of pros.
So far I am not good at this game yet, and only play the "Arcade" setting, and have not yet played online.
My android phone is my constant companion and I am getting addicted to this game! I love it.
I get "cycling" often, but cannot figure out what I am doing to earn it! I see it there sometimes after I hit a homer, but cannot connect it to anything I have done! please advise?
I am very confused about what IS "cycling"? I can't figure out what it is! (feeling stupid)
So far my high score is only 8,000  but I will keep playing and maybe one day try one of the other options other than always playing Arcade only. (when I can get a more respectable high score)
I have figured out all the things about this game that give me extra points in the arcade setting, like the +300 for a crash into the scoreboard or sign, and the extra 100 for each time I hit a homerun in a row.. I really dig the extra 500 when it tells me "hit to the left" and then I get a bullseye!
But i see that it gives me +300 every now and then for 'cycling" it says beside the +300 after my homerun..
I feel really stupid that I cannot figure out, after all these hours of play, what this is.
Someone please help out a newbie and tell me what cycling is? What am I doing to earn those extra +300 per home run when it gives it to me?
I cannot connect it to anything I am doing, it seems almost random, and happens quite often, which is cool, but I for the life of me cannot figure out what causes the game to decide whether I get that extra "+300 cycling" added to my homerun hit.
Please help me out and tell me what is cycling in arcade mode?
Thank you in advance,
Perry in Florida, USA
PS I dig this game, getting addicted, I am astounded by some of the high scores you guys get on the high scores list online!
btw- I also have not yet figured out about the lit up sections on the scoreboard that lights up one or two of the 3 different areas of the homerun sections. I dont know if it is telling me these are the sections I am hitting most of my homeruns in... I think so :-)

Cycling is hitting to left, center and right. That's what the scoreboard being lit up means. Once all three are lit up then it will tell you where to hit for the extra points. If you continue to hit where it tells you to (called shot) then you continue to get bullseye points. If you miss a called shot then it starts over.

@BringIt; Thanks for helping me to understand man, very cool.
Okie, now I understand cycling completely and couldn't wait to grab my phone and try it out now that i knew how to
do it correctly.. even more fun now!
The only other thing I am not totally clear on is the advantage of hitting the "Gold balls" outta the part.
I assume this has something to do with being able to unlock different options in the game when playing online, like maybe being able to change your uniform type and things, but this is only my assumption, as I only play on Arcade until I get a little better like you guys.
Or maybe the number of gold balls you hit out has more to do with how the computer ranks you when choosing an opponent online IDK...
Anyways, Thank for clearing me up on cycling, I am enjoying the game even more now, because I am able to get cycling more often, now that i understand how. Perty kewl :p
Thanks again,

Put the gold balls in the bank and save up for a higher powered/contact uniform. Not sure what gear you are running with but there is alot of different combos you can use to be more efficient especially when you play in the match up mode. Different combos work better say with the green pitcher in the major channel and so on. It's up to you to figure out what works best depending on your style of play cuz everyone has their own style.
Good luck

Perry,
Good luck with the cycling skills, I'm sure you'll keep getting better at it. You're definitely taking the right approach to the game though! What's your player ID? I'll look you up when I'm on and we can practice a little if you want.

I don't think its easy in none of the channels, I think it boils down to what pitch you get at that time. Now I do have better luck when Luther is pitching ( thats the pitcher with the green shirt ). For me its hitting to the left, Ill hit it foul 60% of the time.

out from your house or pick up your bike from a cycle shelter. You can always find a place to chain up your bike, even in busy shopping centers and crowded strip malls. It is only at such stores that you can get the perfect comfort and best fitting bikes.
