Still very useful,
Reflects damage, and is a pain to others (when I fight rangers with Thorns 3, I just leave em)

10 hits, even normal, and thats 80 damage, not to mention the damage your opponent is doin.

i agree half of it to what this person mention.

imo, for early starters, the monster we training on has low hp, thus reflecting 8 damage at lvl3 thorns do affects your training rate.more over, it does help during battlefields as early stage battlefields, players tend to have lower hp(no doubt), therefore their hp will drain down quite fast when hitting a Thorned egg especially to rangers that spams DS on the egg.

but when at later stage(lvl 20+) where the monster we train on has longer hp say 1000,the 8 dmg reflection becomes insignificant compare to 1000hp, by then, this thorns have to go if we do not have enough skill points to pump on essential skills. otherwise if we have extra skill points, then in that case just leave it for thorn 3.

Chchan is the best person to consult for advise in IMO !
Friendly, helpful and extremely insightful.

Sorry for late replies, this guide is made since like 8mths ago when IMO was still new and thus glitch exploits using Shift was not found out yet at the moment as it was not included in this guide. However, since there is this Shift exploit glitch, yes, it is a must skill for you to be able to shift right through the "portal" point and kill your monster easily without them even giving you a single hit. This exploit is used mainly in the desert for lvl 27+ rangers.

Shift skills should be remain at lvl 1 for this exploit. Another function for this skill is to get "distance" from warrior during PvPs as ranger are suppose to be range.

Quite a useful guide. This coupled with Raiwin's really does help one get off on the right foot when using a Ranger. While not most recently updated, this does provide the basic knowledge (and more) to be on your way correctly.

Crit is indeed a Ranger's most useful "stat" to gain through equipment. That's not to say Dex should not be heavily focused on as well.

Indeed helped build upon my knowledge of the class ^.^
