Default Two issues: Hit and Run/Steal and Batting Order

So the first thing I want to address is when I have a guy on base and I tell him to steal. When I was playing my first season in league mode, I would send my runner early then swing away, mainly to try to avoid the ground ball double play. I used this technique often and effectively, but the second season not so much, but for one main reason. When I try to pull this off now, once I send my runner, my swing touches don't register, no matter if I tap the screen once or repeatedly. Sometimes the batter swings, sometimes he doesn't, usually he doesn't.

Now I don't know if this is due to a change in difficulty or what. But from what I read in the loading screen tips, only the first 20 games were on easy mode, not the whole first season. If I press to swing I expect the batter to swing, regardless of whether a baserunner is on the move. I haven't changed my lineup all that much either, so it's not as if the batter's stats are what cause it.

The second issue, albeit minor, is that I think there should be a way to look at teams' lineups and batting orders. If I'm on the mound and there is a guy on second, maybe I want to look at their batting order so I can decide if I want to walk him (which leads to another point that maybe there should be an intentional walk option so you don't lose a chunk of stamina by walking or plunking the batter), and go after the next batter in hopes of picking up a double play.

I don't have that issue. What I DO have, is the frustration with double plays. Honestly, I have hit into as many as five double plays in a nine inning game. Dead serious. I also employ the hit and run with good players to try to avoid this. Honestly, it's more effective than bunting for me. The lack of infield popups is why, 95% of the time it is a grounder or fly deep enough for the runner to get back.

Does the difficulty seriously increase after the first 20 games? That would explain why when I first started the game I started out 18-2 and then almost fell below .500 barely 30 games later lmao.

Oh the DP's are brutal - so quick. If you didn't send him, anything on the ground is virtually automatic. My strategy is to constantly send runners. If it's a breaking ball I let the steal go through. If it's 2 or 4 seam it becomes a hit and run.

i've had this happen if i am playing in portrait mode and try to swing by pressing in the top half of the screen. in landscape mode i am always able to swing.
